2008 Maine Chapter President's Message

On behalf of our Maine Chapter's Board of Director's, I am delighted to welcome to you to our newly re-designed website. Here you will find a directory of our members who represent some of the most experienced, best-educated, and most talented appraisers in the State. If you are in need of a professional real estate appraiser for either residential or commercial real estate, this membership directory will provide you with names and contact information for highly qualified individuals working throughout Maine.

Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the Appraisal Institute is regarded nation-wide as the premier professional organization of real estate appraisers. Our 22,000 members nationwide are recognized nationally for their depth of experience, education, understanding, and knowledge of real estate valuation. Members also adhere to strictly enforced Code of Professional Ethics and Standards of Professional Appraisal Practices.

Our designated members (SRA for residential, and MAI for commercial) are recognized industry-wide as having demonstrated fundamental and extensive training, education and experience. Holding an Appraisal Institute designation sets appraisers apart from the rest of the appraisal community. Those that are designated are recognized as the most qualified in their fields.

As one of 92 chapters throughout the United States, the Maine Chapter of the Appraisal Institute strives to provide its members with various services and opportunities which enable them to achieve their personal and business objectives in a professional and ethical manner. The Maine Chapter offers quality continuing education, promotes the Appraisal Institute and its commercial and residential designations, provides opportunities for networking and development of professional relationships, presents timely appraisal-related topics at chapter meetings, and participates in political issues that affect our membership and profession.
